Comments: Assumed to be introduced for aquaculture. Fish came to the USA from Côte d'Ivoire via Pentecoste, northeast Brazil (Ref. 88). A single fish in cold distress was taken from the Saugahatchee Creek portion of Yates Reservoir, in the Tallapoosa drainage of Mobile Basin, Lee County, Alabama, on 12 January 1986 (Ref. 74657).
